Next Fill Privacy

Summary

• Next Fill has no accounts. There is nothing to sign in to.
• Your collection, your fill history and any photos you add stay on your device and, if you turn it on, in your own iCloud account. Thrice Woven cannot see them.
• There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.

What we collect

Nothing is sent to a Thrice Woven server, because Next Fill does not have one. The app stores the following on your device:

• Pens and nibs. The names you give them, the nib fitted, and anything you write in the notes field — where a pen came from, what it cost, how it writes.
• Inks. The inks you record owning, the colour you assign each one, and roughly how much is left.
• Fill history. When a pen was inked, with what, and when it was flushed. This is what the suggestions are calculated from, and the calculation happens on the device.
• Photos you attach. Kept in the app's own storage on the device, next to the pen or ink you attached them to.
• Your settings. Sort order, units, and whether iCloud sync is on.

If you have iCloud enabled for Next Fill, this data syncs through your own private iCloud database, so the collection on your Mac and the collection on your phone are the same collection. It is governed by your agreement with Apple and is not readable by Thrice Woven.

What we don't collect

• No name, email address, date of birth or any other account detail.
• No device identifiers, advertising identifiers or fingerprinting of any kind.
• No location. Next Fill never requests location access.
• No analytics, usage statistics, session recording, crash telemetry or A/B testing.
• No purchase history. The app has no store, no affiliate links and no connection to any retailer, so it does not know and does not ask where you bought anything.
• No contacts, calendar, microphone or motion data.

Where data lives

On your device, in the app's private container, and — if you have turned it on — in your personal iCloud account, which is also how the phone and the Mac stay in step. Deleting the app removes the local copy. Removing Next Fill's data from iCloud settings removes the synced copy, on both machines. Because we hold nothing, there is no account for us to delete and no export for us to send you; the app's own export writes a file directly to your device, and you can take your collection elsewhere with it.

Third parties

Next Fill contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics library, no advertising network and no crash reporter. It ships with a list of common inks so that you do not have to type them in; that list is inside the app and is not fetched from anywhere. The app makes no network requests other than to Apple's iCloud service on your behalf, and only if you have enabled iCloud sync.

Apple provides us with anonymous, aggregated App Store statistics such as the number of downloads by territory. We cannot connect these to any individual, and they are produced by Apple rather than by anything in the app.

Permissions

Next Fill asks for two permissions, each only when it is first needed.

• Photo library. Optional. Used only when you pick a photo of a pen, a nib or a writing sample to attach to an entry. On iOS you may grant access to selected photos rather than the whole library; the app works normally that way and never browses beyond what you choose. A photo you attach is copied into the app's own storage and stays there. The app does not read location data from your photos.
• Camera. Optional. Used only when you choose to photograph something from inside the app. Nothing is captured in the background.

Declining both leaves the rest of the app fully usable; a pen can always be recorded in words.

Children

Next Fill is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Since the app collects no personal information at all and requires no account, there is nothing for a child to submit to us. A parent who has a question can write to the address below.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it and the previous version is superseded. If a change ever meant that Next Fill began collecting data it does not collect today, the app would ask you before it did so.
